He was about 25 feet up on the left side of a vertical limb which parallels the trunk on the right (pass the tree and then turn back to look.) His plumage is definitely juvenile, but adult head markings are obvious. Thanks to those who shared their scopes. Later he flew to the magnolia which is about 50 feet away across the trail.
