[SBB] birding in the parking lot !

Just want to share a terrific 'bird view' from this morning.   My 
husband and I went to  Picchetti Ranch OSP this morning, mainly  to 
hike the Zinfandel  ( I just happened to have my binoculars along !) .  
  When  you step out of your car, you see a small, colorful persimmon 
tree on the chaparral-covered slope to the west - very close to the 
parking lot.  By itself, the tree is a lovely sight with its deep 
orange-colored fruit, but this morning a magnificent CALIFORNIA 
THRASHER was 'brunching' on the persimmons - he appeared to be having a 
very, very, good time.

It was a great start for our hike/birding walk.
