Another possible loon:
At Lake Ranch reservoir (the tiny lake in Sanborn state park,
usually dry but currently full to the brim) around the middle of the
week, I heard what sounded like a loon calling from the brush at
the northwest end of the lake. I never saw the bird (the only bird
in the lake when I was there was a single coot) so I wasn't able
to confirm the ID (I've only heard loons a couple of times before,
and have yet to see one).
