[SBB] Ed Levin and Sierra Road

This morning I took a walk along the Agua Caliente trail, east
of Sandy Wool Lake at Ed Levin Co. Park, stopping slightly short
of the hang-glider parking/takeoff area. I saw the expected nice
species, but not anything rare. The highlight: a GRASSHOPPER SPARROW
carrying food and calling from a trailside post (before reaching the
sycamore draw), providing excellent views. (I'd guess this behavior
implies mobile fledgelings.) Another was heard singing uphill, and
one more was seen singing farther along. I also found WESTERN KINGBIRD,
ASH-THROATED FLYCATCHER, a pair of WESTERN BLUEBIRDs, 2 or 3 singing
male INDIGO BUNTINGs, 2 RUFOUS-CROWNED SPARROWs, and of course lots
of BULLOCK'S ORIOLEs. A few WILD TURKEYs were later heard from west
of Sandy Wool Lake
At the Elms area, Mike Mammoser arrived shortly after I did. We
had two PACIFIC-SLOPE FLYCATCHERs, at least 3 WESTERN TANAGERs, and
(heard) one each WESTERN WOOD-PEWEE and WILSON'S WARBLER. Mike found
a small migrant flock which included at least one WARBLING VIREO, an
ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER and a TOWNSEND'S WARBLER (I missed those two
warblers).
From there, we both traversed Sierra Road. Birds weren't numerous,
but there was some nice variety close to the corral near the summit:
two HORNED LARKs (one singing), a family of WESTERN BLUEBIRDs (with
at least two fledgelings), a LARK SPARROW, a GRASSHOPPER SPARROW seen
singing way uphill, etc.
After lunch I briefly checked some Alviso spots, but didn't find
anything of real note. There were about 5 BONAPARTE'S GULLs visible
across Mallard Slough from the EEC. Some AMERICAN AVOCETs at pond
A16 were acting like they had young around.
