Good evening SBBs.....
What a great day here at Rinconada Hills.....At the feeders were two male
BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAKS, OAK TITMICE, CHICKADEES, NUTTALL'S WOODPECKER, HOUSE
FINCH, BEWICK'S WREN....feeding on the ground MOURNING DOVES, JUNCO'S, CA AND
SPOTTED TOWHEES. The RED-SHOULDERED HAWK is still incubating. The BLACK PHOEBE
is building a second nest.....
Went for a long walk around the complex....at the lake, a GREAT BLUE HERON,
a RED-WINGED BLACKBIRD starting to nest in the reeds. BARN SWALLOWS flying
over the lake, CANADA GEESE, MALLARDS, COOTS, PIED-BILLED GREBES and a GREEN
HERON. The Crows are still nesting in front of the club house.
Found a gorgeous WESTERN TANAGER, ALLEN'S HUMMINGBIRD, ANNA'S HUMMINGBIRDS
and a JUNCO feeding fledglings.....
WESTERN BLUEBIRDS were such a delight to watch....Hundreds upon hundreds of
CEDAR WAXWINGS....a few ROBINS sighted too!
All and all a great birding day....Wishing you all good birding and my best
regards,
Linda Sullivan
