[SBB] Red-shouldered Hawk snack

While sitting at my computer just now, one of the RED-SHOULDERED HAWKS that's been hanging around our house pounced on something in the front yard. I grabbed my binoculars and could see that it was standing on a large lizard. We have a lot of Western Fence Lizards here but this appeared to be one of the occasional alligator lizards that we see around. (Don't ask if it was a Southern or Northern, I can't even tell them apart with a good view!) This hawk has mostly immature plumage with rufescent the upper wing coverts.

BLACK PHOEBES have started to visit their nesting sites on our house. I haven't noticed if they are carrying nesting material.

Several PINE SISKINS were visiting a knot hole in one of our live oaks. I suspect that they were getting water (bad news for the tree, strong potential for rot). I'm not sure why they don't visit the water dishes on the other side of the house. To counter the notion that some people seem to have that the siskins will starve if we don't put out seed for them, I don't put out any seed that they feed on, and they are still active in our yard. Sounds like we regularly have at least 10-15 of them in our live oaks these past few months.
