The Anna's hummingbird nest that Bill reported is different than the one I
found with two young birds still in it as of yesterday. In addition, in
the pine to the right of my nest (about opposite the first pump station)
there is what appears to be a ruby-crowned kinglet nest. It is hard to
see, about 20 feet up on the right side of the tree in a branch that
extends from the main tree. I saw a bird fly in and out twice and never
could get a confirmation, but it fits the location and description of a
kinglet nest, and there was a kinglet in the immediate area.

Dear Jack/SBB,
Ruby-crowned Kinglets nest no closer to the Bay area than the Trinity
Mountains and the Sierra Nevada. My nickel is on Lesser Goldfinch.
