Birders-

This morning between 10:30 and 11:30, Charlie Moores and I observed what we are calling the Iceland gull of Hidden Lake in Milpitas. The bird matched all the features and descriptions of what I had previously seen on two occasions, and was what Charlie said in Britain would be "just another Iceland gull". It spent all of its time on the end of the dock, fending off other gulls occasionally, as has been its habit, or standing alone. Charlie took several photos, which he will put on a page and send to me as soon as he returns to England tomorrow. Since neither of us are expert at gull ID, others may want to return to this spot for another look.

For you nest/baby bird lovers, there are now two baby Anna's hummingbirds in a nest along the northern waterthrush creek off of Charleston Road. Look for them in the lower, back, right hand side of a large green tree along the path just past the first volleyball net.
