A bit of miscellaneous birding on Sunday morning didn't turn of anything
of real note. I stopped at Calero Reservoir, finding very few birds on the
water -- I guess most of the ducks have departed. Of some interest was a
flock of 9 aechmophorus (sp?) Grebes, mostly sleeping and viewed distantly
toward the sun, so I couldn't ID them as to species. I only found two
Common Mergansers. Is this already past the date when the Bald Eagle has
departed in past years? (Anyway, I didn't see it.)
Along the Calero Park entrance road, about 25 Wild Turkeys included
about 11 males in full display, just sort of milling around.
