Hi All,
On arrival at Hidden Villa this morning 3/2/2005, after my early visit to Monte Bello, I heard more Orange-crowned Warbler song from the hillsides. It seems that they have arrived in force, as three or more birds are vocal here today. I believe I first heard them here on Monday 2/28 but could not catch a visual glimpse for confirmation.
The Yellow-bellied Sapsucker continues also, still feeding in its favorite Magnolia "cones". I don't know if it's the product of molting into fresh plumage or just the good light and angles I had today, but the bird's black chest bib now appears complete and substantial yellow is apparent all the way down its front, starting at the neck area on either side of the bib and extending to the vent area.
