To the photographer who asked some time ago:
The Coopers Hawk chicks at Parkview Park 1 in south San Jose are
indeed visible for photography. Better wear a hard-hat in case the
mamma decides to make contact though, or bring a friend. The mother
took three passes at me as I stood watching the chicks with my binocs.
The chicks are still in white "chick plumage" (what would that be
called?) but their wings are beginning to show dark adult feathers.
Regards,
Ken Schmahl
