8:15-9:15 a.m. today, both the immature and the mature WHITE-FACED IBIS were
foraging in plain view on opposite edges of the water at the Coast Casey
Forebay. I found three other species of note in that area this morning. Farther
up the Adobe Creek Trail, in Adobe Creek, was a single LESSER YELLOWLEGS
foraging next to a Black-Necked Stilt for size comparison. A single male
BLUE-WINGED TEAL flew above Adobe Creek, then landed out of view. Four immature TREE
SWALLOWS sat on the barbed wire at the top of the fencing along the trail
across from the Coast Casey Forebay, vocalizing as one or more adult(s) returned
frequently to feed them.
Good Birding!
Dotty Calabrese
