[SBB] Warbler song

On Saturday I checked for shorebirds at the CCFS waterbird pond and at
the New Chicago Marsh (particularly along the length of the inactive RR
tracks). The pond water level was much too high (only Avocets, Stilts
and a few roosting Long-billed Dowitchers). The assortment at the New
Chicago Marsh was pretty much as Bob described it from Friday; birds
included 8 Semipalmated Plovers and at least 260 Red-necked Phalaropes
(probably more).
Of possible interest was a Warbler song I heard from the trees on the
east side of the paved road on the east side of the CCFS pond. The song
was of rather thin repeated notes, or perhaps a warble with a weak second
note. The bird moved on the other side of the vegetation for 5 or so
minutes, then apparently left -- I thought I may have heard it again in
the distance, toward Coyote Creek. I thought Yellow-rumped was a
possibility, but since the song was somewhat scratchy I'm more inclined
to something like Hermit. Sorry no real ID, but perhaps others in the
area can listen for it.
                                                            Al Eisner
