[SBB] El Corte de Madera Pileated

Some unusually loud and slow drumming at El Corte de Madera this
afternoon, a bit past the sandstone formation on the Tafoni trail,
turned out to be a pair of PILEATED WOODPECKERS, which perched long
enough to give me a good look at their crests before flying off.
(I couldn't see enough detail to know for sure that the pair was
male and female.)

What beautiful birds! I've seen lots of reports of them here
from around Montebello, but they were life birds for me, and
just as impressive in person as they look in guidebooks.
They didn't pose long enough for a photo, alas (and would have
been about 3 pixels high in the camera I had with me).
