It was mostly the usual suspects. We were greeted by a Common Raven,
making sure everyone around knew he was in charge.  Shoreline lake
had cormorants, eared grebes, least terns, a common goldeneye, what I
think is a red knot, and a greater scaup that clearly wanted his
picture taken....  near the lake, about 10 canada geese were on
patrol, as well as some wee brown birds (my sparrow IDs suck worse
than my other IDs...)

over on the slough, there were large numbers of ruddy ducks and
northern shovelers, one lone white pelican, and a huge raft (100+
birds) that we finally resolved out to about 80% Buffleheads and 20%
surf scoters.

Laurie found one redhead in the rafts of ducks, but we weren't able
to refind it for photos.

We also saw both snowy and cattle egret. And an unseen but noisy
hummingbird kvetched at us as we left...

as always, corrections to my IDs well appreciated...

(and as an aside, all of the work on the photos, and the web pages,
were all done via Aperture (http://www.apple.com/aperture/ ) -- first
time I've had the chance to push photos completely through the process.
