I went looking for the common loon reported at Shoreline yesterday. No
loons (except the ones paddling canoes) but this snowy walked right at me
and snagged a morsel from the shallows:

Black-tailed jackrabbits were everywhere, and very skittish:

In the tall trees by the Cafe there were several Bullock's orioles but they
too quick and too high for sharp photographs.
