All,
This morning Pat Kenny, Roland Kenner, Frank Vanslager and I had great views
of a SOLITARY SANDPIPER in the small pond located behind the Smith Creek CDF
Fire Station near the gate for the trail that heads west up the hill. The
bird was first found at about 8:30, shortly thereafter the bird flew toward
the west. However, just a few minutes later the bird was found to be back in
the pond. Several minutes later the bird flew toward the north and out of
site. A recheck at about 1 PM showed that the bird had once again returned to
the pond. It was still there when we left a few minutes later.
Good luck,
Bob Reiling
