It seems like forever since I has posted any sightings.....so this feels great! On my way to my new home in Rinconada Hills I was thrilled to see one male HOODED MERGANSER swimming in the very large lake that Rinconada Hills has. A SNOWY EGRET was fishing in lake as well. Lots of MALLARDS and a few white ducks.....about 30 CANADA GEESE... I have a wonderful pair of ANNA'S HUMMINGBIRDS in my yard as well as my very own BLACK PHOEBE! An adorable BEWICK'S WREN makes itself known to me when I sit out and watch the birds in the backyard....Lots of CHICKADEEs and NUTTALLS WOODPECKERS. Hawks are in fair numbers here also....COOPER'S, RED-TAILED AND RED-SHOULDERED. A pair of KESTRELS calling back and forth across the lake and at the house keep me very interested in what they are doing..... SPOTTED TOWHEEs, CA TOWHEEs and OAK TITMICE seem easy to find as well as the noisy SCRUB-JAYS. My hope to is find some Quail....what treat that would be.... I have been told that there nesting boxes up for Western-Screech Owls and Bluebirds and I look forward to checking those out in the spring... Wishing you all good birding and my best regards, Linda Sullivan _______________________________________________ Do not post admin requests to the list.
