Perhaps 5:30 is too hot for migrants to be out and about. No warblers, despite my best pishing. Did see 1 very active Western Flycatcher (type) -- very yellow-green, tear drop eye, big head-- a Bewick's Wren, several Anna's Hummingbirds by the bottlebrush, and a surprised male pheasant. Over the water tanks several Barn Swallows flew and 1 non-Barn Swallow with a very white belly and squared off tail-- Tree? Also no sign of sparrows here-- there are usually WC and GC in the winter. I stopped super quickly at Geng Rd-- again, no sign of flitting, feeding warblers in the bushes or eucalyptus trees. I did not have time to check the ranger station.
