About 100 ft. along I found the roadrunner just to the west. It came up on the levee right in front of me and froze for a period of time and then continued down the east side of the levee. I went down the stairs and followed it along the edge of the brush. Eventually it came out on the entrance road and walked up to the lavatory building and took a position right against the build in the bare patch of ground there. It again remained motionless for for a considerable length of time ignoring me and the cars going in and out. Then it suddenly lunged forward and came up with good sized lizard. It juggled the lizard for moment and swallowed it. I could see the progress of the lizard down the birds throat by the wriggling distortions. It then occured to me that the times the bird and I were motionless he was not concerned with me at all he was hunting ala egret or great blue herron style. It eventually crossed the entrance road on the east side and disappeard. John _______________________________________________ Do not post admin requests to the list.
