When Kay Partelow, Lisa Pavey and I arrived in the parking lot at about 9 am it was sitting on a low horizonatal branch of a tree by the entrance. I got several photos from about 20 feet away as it stayed there for about 10 minutes. It then jumped off and went down to the waters edge and hid in some bushes for a while. It later emerged to give the later arriving birders a good show. I've posted some photos here: http://www.pbase.com/robpavey/sbb_roadrunner_alviso Also seen from the trail to the north/west of the parking lot were Loggerhead Shrike, Yellow Warbler and Common Yellowthroat. We then explored the railway tracks east of State and Spreckles with Les Chibana and party and had scope views of the Ruff and two Pectoral Sandpipers. One Burrowing Owl was also seen from the railway tracks. Rob --- Tom Grey <[[email protected]]> wrote: > The GREATER ROADRUNNER was in the area around the > Marina parking lot this > morning.
