Now-a-days this trip gets stopped by the new fence at the wooden bridge by the Moffett Field Golf Course. We might have tried to go through the hole in the fence that someone has recently made, but this is much too dangerous for a group; it is even difficult for a solitary person carrying a scope. My personal count was of 66 species, with 11 duck species ... which is exactly what I had on the checkout on Thursday. Even though we missed the Eurasian Widgeon today, we did find 2 Canvasbacks (and re-found the "White-headed" Ruddy Duck in pond A3W.) Perhaps somebody can post the arguments that show that this is definitely not a crossbreed of Ruddy Duck and White-headed Duck?
