There were very few gulls, so we went over to Charleston Slough and salt pond A1. There was a feeding frenzy of AMERICAN WHITE and a few BROWN PELICANs, FORSTER'S TERNs, CALIFORNIA, RINGBILL, and BONAPARTE'S GULLs, but, alas, neither of the special birds seen yesterday. But as we walked back towards the Forebay, about 11 am, Pat spotted the juvenile SABINE'S GULL flying over the levee that separates A1 from Charleston Slough. It spent the next 15 minutes flying and resting on the water in A1, always in the vicinity of the point where the levee turns from running NE towards N. We left the bird on the water in A1 with a number of other birders watching. Roland Kenner _______________________________________________ Do not post admin requests to the list.
