Last Wednesday evening, 20 Oct 04, I visited the Coyote Creek Golf Course south of San Jose and found a pair of BLUE-WINGED TEAL (eclipse male and a female) on one of the ponds. There was also a female CINNAMON TEAL. On Tuesday evening, 19 Oct 04, I found 2 OSPREYS, one perched at Parkway Lakes and another eating a fish along Coyote Creek between Metcalf and Coyote Ranch Road. Also, a check of the Calero Reservoir boat launch showed at least 3 male TRICOLORED BLACKBIRDS in the parking lot flock. They're very interesting to see in their fresh basic plumage.
