Stopped off at the Canyon Trail at Monte bello yet again this afternoon at
4:15 PM...partly just to see if the Lawrence's Goldfinches were still
around, and partly because on some of my previous visits I'd had indications
that there were significantly more individual LAGOs than I'd caught out in
the open. There were only a few Purple Finches and Pine Siskins at the tall
willow just before milepost 0.3 when I arrived but before long a small flock
of 6 LAGOs started to join them, hesitated just long enough for the ID, and
bounced off toward Page Mill Rd. and San Mateo County.

As I was leaving a Pileated Woodpecker called from the main Stevens Creek
tributary to the west.
