It was on the shore taking a bath for a while, then flew up into a tall tree on the shoreline. I am not certain what it is, but have tentatively identified it as a COOPER'S HAWK. I am also wondering if it is an adolescent. I would estimate that it is about 12" long, beak to tail tip. http://www.pt-photos.com/cooperhawk_page.htm Thanks in advance for your help.
