The female Wood Duck which someone mentioned earlier was still there, hanging out with a group of mallards, and in addition, there was a male Wood Duck swimming in the pond. The female is banded; I never saw the male's legs. My first wood ducks, so I was jazzed. Other interesting (to this non-expert birder) birds included several gadwalls (another first for me) and pied-billed grebes, and a belted kingfisher, in addition to lots of double-crested cormorants, egrets (snowy and great), lots of Canada geese, a couple of black phoebes, and the usual crowd of mallards, coots, and gulls (no terns, oddly).
