Best birds were the Osprey seen as we left at 4pm on the island in pond 1 closest to the entrance and the 2 male and 3 female Hooded Mergansers seen in pond 5. I was surprised to see a female Surf Scoter in pond 1 near the place we later saw the Osprey. I see them at Shoreline but never here before. Lots of beautiful male American Wigeon with the Gadwall in pond 3.. A single male Ring-Necked Duck was seen there as well. The Western Grebe, also in pond 1, had the red eye well inside the black top half of the face.
