After birding at Henry Coe, I went down to Hollister to visit my Dad. In the southern-most of the ponds across Hwy 156 from the Sewage Plant in Hollister, was a female, basic-plumage LONG-TAILED DUCK. Take Hwy 25 south from 101 toward Hollister. At the light, turn right, south, onto Hwy 156. After crossing the San Benito River, there are a series of ponds on the right. The duck was in the southern-most pond that had water.
