Pat Brennan, Jan Garrison and I found two RUFOUS CROWNED SPARROWS, who seemed to be defending their territory at the gate. As we walked west on the flat dirt trail several LINCOLN'S SPARROWS were seen perched on the barbed wire fence with many GOLDEN CROWNED AND WHITE CROWNED SPARROWS nearby. A SAVANNAH SPARROW cause quite a bit of discussion and we never did agree on that bird. A handsome SAY'S PHOEBE was flycatching from a fence post. MEADOWLARKS were in the field and a LOGGERHEAD SHRIKE was sitting on a post. Many W. BLUEBIRDS could be seen in the trees and bushes near the creek. A low flying NO. HARRIER cleared out many of the birds as a pair of AM. KESTREL'S chased after it. RED TAILED HAWKS were seen and RED SHOULDERED HAWKS heard only. Missed birds included Cal. Thrasher and Yellow billed Magpie. Janna Pauser Almaden Valley _______________________________________________ Do not post admin requests to the list.
