I hadn't known they could look that "all-white" from below! Along the same line of "live and learn": this past weekend I just discovered the "zhree" call of the Hermit Thrush. I heard it, didn't recognize it, and found the bird giving it. Sibley describes it -- who knew? Well many of you did, I'm sure, but I didn't.. Finally, I was startled to hear a Townsend's Warbler song on November 1. I've never heard one singing in the Fall at all before, much less this late.
