Frank Vanslager and I had fair views of a singing CHIPPING SPARROW (this area would seem to be in Santa Clara County on my Thomas Guide but just inside Santa Cruz County on my Microsoft Streets and Trips. Any expert help sent my way, off SBB, would be appreciated). Other birds seen or heard along Skyline include WESTERN TANAGER, BLACK-THROATED GRAY WARBLER, WILSON'S WARBLER, ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER, an absolutely gorgeous male AUDUBONS WARBLER, and CHESTNUT-BACKED CHICKADEES (parents being pursed by begging young), We then made a brief stop at lower Sanborn-Skyline County Park (to dry off). Birds there included OLIVE-SIDED FLYCATCHER, WESTERN WOOD-PEWEE, PACIFIC-SLOPE FLYCATCHER, PURPLE FINCH, Orange-crowned Warbler, and a VAUX'S SWIFT (with a small group of Tachycineta Swallows, most likely Tree Swallows). _______________________________________________ Do not post admin requests to the list.
