Good afternoon SBBers.....

Today I check on the Great Blue Heron Colony at Vasona.  There are now five 
active nests, all having chicks. One nest has chicks that are 10 days to 2 
weeks old.  The other nests have chicks from 5-7 weeks old. We had one nest 
failure this year.  Wonder if the Golden Eagles had anything to do with it? 

While at Vasona, I was watching the 100s of Cedar Waxwings in the park... The 
best birds sighted today were a pair of Western Tanagers foraging for food 
along with Western Bluebirds, House Finch and Waxwings.  

The water level is extremely low again.  There were only two Forster's Tern 
present. Still lots of Violet-green, Cliff and Barn Swallows.... Four Green 
Herons, Two Snowy Egrets and Four Black-crowned Night Herons were also seen.
