My brief stop at Arzino ranch this afternoon dovetailed Kris's. I talked to the foreman(?) who was only too happy to let me roam around the stables/fields. I found a flock of 8 Yellow-headed Blackbirds, including 4 brightly colored males, hanging out with the horses in the southeasternmost paddocks on the ranch. (These are the first paddocks you see as you're entering the ranch...I'm assuming the gravel entry road runs north-south.) The YHBLs were perched on the metal railing, "singing." :::insert your own strangulation sound effects here::: There were also two Tri-colored Blackbirds in the flock!
