The trip was quite successful, turning up the RED-NECKED PHALAROPE (adult female) near the second island and the alternate-plumaged RUDDY TURNSTONE on the third island. There were also pairs of BLACK SKIMMERS on the third and fourth islands. Other shorebirds included 180+ DUNLIN, 300+ WESTERN SANDPIPERS, about 50 LONG-BILLED DOWITCHERS, 10 BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS, 2 SEMIPALMATED PLOVERS, 2 WILLETS, and 1 GREATER YELLOWLEGS. Several broods of AMERICAN AVOCET have hatched recently. No migrants in the trees along the slough. Mike Rogers _______________________________________________ Do not post admin requests to the list.
