On Sunday 3/28 at about 3:30 pm in the fallow alfalfa field on the west side 
of First St. just opposite the Nortech intersection I observed something of 
interest.  A White-tailed Kite was seen to take a baby Jack rabbit ( 
Black-tailed hare).  As the Kite was grappling with the baby rabbit the 
mother rabbit ( I assume) was running back and forth in front of the Kite 
and jumping almost vertically.  She did this for a few minutes.  The Kite 
seemed only interested in the task at hand ie. eating its prey which it did 
on the ground.  The baby rabbit appeared to be about 5-6 inches in length.  
Has anyone else observed this behavior?  I would be interested in any
