Arrived at Ogier Ponds at 8am. Interesting finds of the day were a Western Kingbird perching on top of a tree calling whit, whit... Colors were spectacular. Got a great close-up look at the American Bittern as it flew from the pond to the left of the parking area to the pond further to the left. Have never seen it in this location before. The flock of Violet-Green Tree Swallows (or was it Tree Swallows?!$@!) has returned to the nesting tree. They were everywhere! One White-throated Swift got mixed in with them somehow! Saw nesting Red-shouldered Hawk and Great-Horned Owl (good pics on Internet)! I also got one of my best pictures ever of a mother spider piggy-backing her offspring across the path - I count 27 - how about you? Great birding!
