I arrived at the second turnout east of the call box along the north side of the lake on highway 152 today at 5:40 AM. Using a scope I saw the Sandhill Crane walking in the shallow water on the south edge of the lake with White-fronted Geese near by. At first it was partially hidden by the willows, but then walked south and east out into the open. The Crane left at 6:04 as it flew directly south and then turned west above the trees and then turned north. It now was well west of the lake and continued flying north into Santa Clara Co airspace.
