Also, for the the last twelve years, as long as I've been birding, a pair of Red-tailed Hawks has nested near the meadow. This spring they seem to be absent, and in have moved a pair of WHITE-TAILED KITES and (a couple of blocks away, near my house) a pair of RED-SHOULDERED HAWKS. I haven't found a nest for either pair yet, but both have been engaging in pair activities for the last couple of weeks. CEDAR WAXWINGS have also been around the neighborhood in flocks for the last week or so.
