This is a fairly reliable location to find this spring-time migrant. At Chesbro Reservoir a flotilla of 30 COMMON MERGANSERS cruised around. Like other South Bay reservoirs, Chesbro is very full right now with waters backing up into Llagas Creek at the upper end. There was just a tiny bit of mudflat at the upper end and here I found one GREATER YELLOWLEGS in breeding plumage, one WILSON'S SNIPE, and one KILLDEER. Five WOOD DUCKS (4 males & one female) were also seen at the upper end. That's about it for now - ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLERS were calling along Woods Trail in the Sierra Azul, and I heard a buzzy HOUSE WREN along Hicks Rd just west of the confluence of Guadalupe & Rincon Creeks but didn't see it.
