I had to meet a gentlemen from the Campbell Reporter for an interview today about the Campbell Ponds and when I drove into the Dell Avenue exit...the male Osprey was sitting on the dead tree limb.... Lots of Cormorants, three Snowy Egrets, Great Egret and four pairs of Lesser Scaup were around the small island. A single male Common Goldeneye was still present from the other day. I then took the reporter over to see the GBHE Colony at Vasona....Nest two is rebuilding with occasional sitting in the nest...hmmmm I was at the Rookery yesterday and lots of twig bringing and mating was going on.... could egg laying be taking place? >From there I took the reporter over to Oka Ponds....entered through Oka Lane.... A Cooper's Hawk made a dive for a Mourning Dove... Lots of Bufflehead still present....no other ducks in the large pond...walking back to the car a Spotted Sandpiper was in the canal....try to explain to someone that to someone that it really is a Spotted Sandpiper it just doesn't have its spots yet....hmmmm If anyone can help out this reporter can you please contact me privately....He is doing an article on birding in Campbell....so if you live and or bird in Campbell please email me if you want to be interviewed. Good birding and my best regards, Linda Sullivan _______________________________________________ Do not post admin requests to the list.
