The reservoir had been closed to boating so we had high hopes :-( We then went to Uvas Canyon County Park where things were really slow. Best bird seen was a pair (one each) HAIRY WOODPECKER. We then went to the western edge of Chesbro Reservoir where the birding was somewhat better. We had a couple good sized family flocks of WESTERN BLUEBIRDS (in one flock one adult was feeding four spotted and striped juveniles), four FORSTER'S TERNS (all alternate plumaged), both Egrets, a couple GREAT BLUE HERONS, a SPOTTED SANDPIPER (distance such that we could not see the spots, mostly ID'd by GIS), and a WESTERN KINGBIRD (posed on a fence line, in full sun, showing all the key field marks, just the way you would like to have it during a field trip). Take care, Bob Reiling _______________________________________________ Do not post admin requests to the list.
