Birders

When I went to look for the Baird's on Wed evening, I never considered to 
look in the channel along the road. Instead, I just walked up the tracks and 
found it immediately in the first pond, without binocs! And, as I said, it then 
flew behind pickleweed. But then others find it in the channel. It seems odd to 
find it so easily, almost by chance. Could there be two birds around?
