Did not find either the RUDDY TURNSTONEs or the COMMON TERNs. Unfortunately the fog cleared quite early and the heat shimmer made the scope fairly useless. Did find one very bright CLARK'S GREBE in Salt Pond A10. 4 BUFFLEHEAD, 3 female types and 1 scruffy male were in Salt Pond A9 near the outlet to Alviso Slough along with 1 LESSER SCAUP. There were many BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERs in Coyote Creek in a complete range of plumages and the 3 EARED GREBEs were together in Salt Pond A13. 5 WHIMBRELs were found in various places, always 1 at a time. The best bird of the day was the CHILEAN FLAMINGO trying to blend in with the curlews, godwits, willets, stilts and avocets in Salt Pond A14. Those pink knees are something else!
