As expected there were two types of replies: -those who wrote about their experience with cameras -those who wanted me to share the information Rather than reply to everyone individually, here's a summary of the information I gathered. The consensus is still that the Nikon Coolpix 4500 is the digital camera best suited for digiscoping through a Swarovski AT 80 spotting scope. Although this camera was discontinued about a year ago, there is ample supply in the used market. I bought myself one of these used ones on the popular online auction site, and have been digiscoping with it for about a month now. I'm still learning the features of the camera, the tricks of digiscoping, as well as the limits. With some practice, I have managed to capture some decent photos of birds, both in the South Bay as well as on a recent trip to Alaska. However, I'm too much of a novice to pass any summary judgement on the limits of the camera, the scope, or the art of digiscoping. The following sites have useful reviews and info: http://www.dpreview.com/ http://www.dcresource.com/ http://www.aztrogon.com/Photography/Main.htm Thanks to everyone who replied, and good luck! --Sidd Ramachandramurthi Mountain View, CA __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
