On reaching A4, we immediately saw an adult LITTLE BLUE HERON feeding along the NW shore, more or less opposite the radar station. We followed the bird around to the NE, finally getting quite good looks from 120' or so. It followed us back as we retreated towards the WPCP. We last saw it about 10:30 and it was not visible when we left A4. It must be well fed judging by the number of fish we saw it catch. A4 was a livelier place this morning than it was Tuesday; there were 200-odd AMERICAN WHITE PELICANS and relatively large numbers of herons, egrets, and FORSTER'S TERNs. Other birds: three WHITE-THROATED SWIFTs over the dump hills, a CASPIAN TERN over A4, and a BURROWING OWL on the levee between the path to A4 and the WPCP. Thanks to Les Chibana and friend for their report. Roland Kenner _______________________________________________ Do not post admin requests to the list.
