Around New Years I had seen a large gull flock on these fields that included California, Ring-Billed, and Mew gulls. I decided to check the field again yesterday. There were only 3 Ring-Billed gulls on the entire field, but as I watched a 1st year Peregrine Falcon flew in out of nowhere and killed one of the gulls. It proceeded to eat the gull while I watched (along with a few school kids who seemed duly impressed by what they were witnessing). If anyone goes by this area, keep your eyes open. I never expected a Peregrine to be there. Andy Pedler - Newark --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
