Monday afternoon I stopped by Edenvale Park after
work. I found 3 FOX SPARROWS and one adult bright,
white-stripped, WHITE-THROATED SPARROW in the
west-central part of the park in two separate flocks
of GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROWS. I also found one
RED-BREASTED SAPSUCKER twice or two separate birds:
the first sighting was in a leafless tree across the
path from the Fox Sparrows and the second was low on
the trunk of a tree in the grove next to the grassy
area near Hayes Mansion. I was attracted to the flock
with the Fox Sparrows by a SPOTTED TOWHEE feeding
nearby.
