First pair was found between the boulders and drain pipe. Second pair just north of the Wood Duck box. Nancy Ruehl went back to the first pair while I stayed with the other pair to be sure. One Wood Duck pair and a male offspring were first seen Christmas day 2002 and seen continuously since. The young male has presumably attracted a mate. Let's hope for some ducklings that would be easy viewing for all to see later this spring. *************************************************** I birded from the Stile Ranch entrance to Santa Teresa park and walked northwest along San Vincente towards a small creek this morning with Jana Kattenhorn. We saw two each, Says Phoebe's, Lincoln's Sparrows, and Rufous crowned Sparrows. Also saw three White tailed Kites, many Meadowlarks, six Am.Kestrels, one each No. Harrier, Red shouldered and Red tailed Hawk, Red breasted Sapsucker and Cal. Thrasher. Found many Lesser Goldfinches, White and Golden crowned Sparrows, several Nuttalls, No. Flickers, Ruby crowned Kinglets and one Yellow billed Magpie. We heard many Wrentits and Bewicks Wrens. Jana spotted a beautiful Coyote that kept an eye on us for a while. Janna Pauser _______________________________________________ Do not post admin requests to the list.
