All,

Today 1/8/04, Mike Mammoser and I met in Alviso for a Snowy Plover
survey on closed refuge lands.  Before doing the survey, however, we
stopped at the Gold Street bridge over the Guadalupe River to look for
the Swamp Sparrow found on the San Jose Christmas Bird Count.  After
pishing for a bit, I heard the SWAMP SPARROW chipping from southeast of
the bridge and then managed to get a look at the bird.  After calling
Mike over, we both got a couple more good looks at the bird before and
after it flew to the north side of the river.  The tide was pretty high
at this time, and this may be helpful for seeing this bird.
